Today, it was especially quiet in my house. All I heard was an occasional chirp from various birds and the intermittent flicker from the air conditioner. “This is peaceful,” I thought, as I leaned back and took in more of the quiet. However, what came to my mind is just because there is quiet, does not mean there is peace. Then, I thought about how many people wrestle with the trials of this life in the quiet. Needless to say, I was thankful for the reminder.
Peace. It’s not the calm and the quiet but trusting & relying on God.
May we keep in mind that our peace does not come from the quiet, a calmness in the atmosphere around us, nor any outward things; our peace comes from God. When we trust him, his spirit fills our hearts with his peace. It is a peace that supersedes trials, difficulties, lack of quiet, or any outward thing; it is the peace that surpasses all understanding. And, Yah’s peace is the only true peace. It can be found in the four walls of a home or even in the middle of a storm. It extends to wherever you are when you trust in the God of peace and his sovereignty. What… a… blessing! Praise Yah for his gift of peace.
